THE younger brother of Fast & Furious star Paul Walker has been asked to fill his brig brother’s rather large shoes, in the final scenes of his last movie. Walker was killed in the burning wreckage of a Porsche Carrera GT two weeks ago, before the 7th installment of the Fast & Furious franchise had wrapped up filming.
After production was shut down immediately following Paul Walkers death, Universal Pictures stated that they were “dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers.”
Soon after, the production team came to a conclusion that they needed to finish the final scenes. Universal Studios are hoping Cody Walker will take up this opportunity to honor his brother’s legacy.
Cody Walker is a professional stuntman who currently is currently staying in L.A Looking after his mother after the recent tragedy.
Sources say ”They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it’s a shot they need Paul’s face in close up they can CGI it later on, if Cody agrees it’s because he wants to honor his brother’s memory. There are many details that still need to be worked out, but right now the family and cast and crew are all still grieving.”
No decisions are final but Universal Pictures have said:
“At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker.”
Universal has confirmed that filming will continue, in the meantime we will wait to see all the facts emerge about how they propose to achieve this. Having Cody Walker
